Thread Painting:

This class is by far the easiest class I teach.  It is a piece of cake for most.  Sweet and satisfying.  The technique will surprise you it is so do-able.  The uses and options are endless. It adds depth and texture to your quilts and Wearables.  It is a form of embroidery, yet does not have the constraints of the built in cards.  Your design will be truly YOUR very own.  This is a technique class only.  I give all the tricks, do's and don'ts to send you home dancing with excitement...

   
Wearable Art 1 or 2 day class:    

This class is geared towards a vest or simple jacket.  Day one we will work on preparing the piecing or design by choosing fabric choices and piecing/design choices.  In a one day class the students will only have about 1 hour to decide what they want. they will not finish their project but will  have a plan and part of their garment finished.  Day 2 the students will work on their design placement and actual working towards completion.

Going home with a finished garment depends on the students choices of design. 

Wearable Art 3-4 Day Class:

This is a more indepth class:  We start off learning about our figure and style best suited for us.  Using the pattern or your choice we fit or alter it to best fit your figure.  I share tips and techniques suitable for W/Art.  We work with color and design placement and finishing techniques.  each student should go home with a finished garment.  Students will be reeling with ideas.  

Bold and Beautiful Artful Quilt...

This can be a 1 day, 2 day or 3-5 day workshop.  The more days the more time I have to dedicate and share more information.  The one day is a quick study but students will get a small 14x14 or smaller piece completed.

This class is based on my Book.  It is truly for the art lover in you.  We start with a batik or hand dyed fabric, hunt for hidden objects in the fabric.  It is like gazing in the clouds and finding objects.  I take you through the process of each step.  Identifying, drawing, Thread marking, quilting and finally painting and embellishing..

Free Motion Quilting..no marking....

Have you ever struggles with sandwiching the three layers?  Puckers, too may pins, marking designs, inconsistant stitches?? I can help you in these areas.  I have a wonderful method that frees you up from struggling with all those pins, sandwiching the easy and pucker proof way.  No marking, yet artful designs.  I work with you and your machine answering many questions to problems.  I work with you on an indivitual basis, will encourage you beyond your fears and disappointments.  I share my knowledge of all necessary tools of the trade, Threads, batting, needles, ect.  This is a technique class.  We do not work on your precious quilt top.

Designing Around Circles 1 day Workshop:

If you are into instant gratification, check this class out!!! It consists of basic background piecing.  Students will get maximum results for minimum work.  I call this piecing "design by surprise "Not quite your mystery quilt.  Each quilt will turn out different.  It is a color and design eye opener.  It can be pieced quickly.  The machine applique technique can be used for many other projects.  Students usually finish a small top in the one day class, with left over pieces for the next quilt.

Two Day Designing Around circles:

In this workshop the students will have more time to make a larger quilt, they will have time to play with background piecing and color arranging.  There is also more time to work on borders.  Students should be able to complete a fairly large quilt top.  70X70 or smaller...
